What I believe is that if you work forty hours a week, you should not be living in poverty. It is time to raise the minimum wage. If students want to go to college, they should not be saddled with $50,000 of debt for every year they are there. It is time to reduce the cost of higher education and make it accessible to all who wish to go, starting by making state universities tuition free. People should not have to worry about getting sick and being unable to afford treatment because, even though they have health insurance, the premiums are so high they had to settle for a plan with a high deductible and where they are responsible for a large portion of the bill. It is time to pass Universal Healthcare legislation and catch up with the rest of the developed world, which has had it in place for generations. Believe in the real American dream, a nation where everybody has the opportunity to work hard to make a fair wage; to study and push themselves further; and when things take a turn for the worst, be it losing your job or ill-health, there is a system in place to make sure you can still be taken care of, because it is the right thing to do.
